2012 – 2013 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program Global UGRAD

The Office of Academic Exchange Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U. S. Department of State, is pleased to announce a new exchange program for undergraduate students-the 2012 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD)

The Global UGRAD Program provides scholarships for one semester or one academic year of U.S. Study in a NON-DEGREE Program. The goals of the program are to provide a diverse group of emerging student leaders, from non-elite and underrepresented groups in Indonesia and East Asia.

All global UGRAD Program participants will be enrolled full-time in undergraduate course work chosen from the institution’s (US) existing curriculum to allow students ample opportunity for ongoing interaction with U.S. Faculty and student peers, and for exposure to U.S. academic and classroom culture..

To ensure that students succeed in their new academic environments, host institutions will offer tailored instruction on topics including academic research and writing, critical thinking, time management, note taking, and studying for and taking tests. Participants will live on campus with American peers.

Students will also be provided with opportunities to participate in up to ten hours of community service per semester. Additionally, an internship component will be offered to all academic-year participants during the academic component of the program. Internships will be related to each participant’s field of study and/or career plans.

Participants may be eligible for up to 4 weeks of intensive English Language instruction in the United States prior to the start of academic portion of their program.

Eligibility:

  1. Scholarships will be granted to students who currently are enrolled in S-1 degree programs only, and have completed their first semester and up to their firth semester of undergraduate study at an Indonesian university.
  2. Applicants should demonstrate leadership potential through academic work, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.
  3. Applicants must have minimum institutional TOEFL score of 500-score or IELTS 5.0 less than two years old. In some cases a personal interview by a fluent qualified Native English Speaker who can confirm that the nominee would be able to achieve that score when tested is acceptable. Candidates must also meet all the requirements of the institution where admission is being sought.
  4. Preference will be given to those who have had little or NO experience in the U.S. or outside of their home countries.
  5. Applications can be for either for one semester or two semesters based on nominee’s availability. No applications should be submitted for both one semester and full year programs.
  6. Applicants are required to return to Indonesia after the completion of the one or two semester program.

ASEAN Millennium Leaders College Student Exchange Scholarships, Daejeon University, Korea

The ASEAN University Network (AUN) in collaboration with Daejeon University (DJU) andMinistry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Korea are now ready to launch the ASEAN Millennium Leaders College Student Exchange Program between the Republic of Korea and ASEAN Nations 2011

Scholarship Information
Full Scholarships covering tuition fee, room and board, roundtrip ticket, and living allowance, will be offered to 30 students from ASEAN Nations who interested to study in the fields of Social Science and ICT at Daejeon University for the year 2011-2012. The program is developed for international exchange students and classes will be taught in English.

Students will be given a chance to attend a 2-month internship programme at the leading organizations in Korea, namely United Nations-Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN APCICT), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(KAIST), Korea-ASEAN Center, Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), Korea Nuclear International Cooperation Foundation (KONICOF), Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, etc.

Admission Requirement

  • Applicant must be a citizen of ASEAN nations and currently enrolled in College or University.
  • Undergraduate students majoring in Information Technology (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electrics Engineering, Communications Engineering or IT related major) or,
  • Undergraduate students majoring in Social Science Studies (e.g. Economics, Business, Public Administration, Political Science, International Studies) and Korean Studies
  • Applicant must has an excellent academic record (Should be in the top 10% of their classes)
  • Applicant must have a good command of written and spoken English.
  • Applicant must have a good medical record.

Timeline:

  • Application Deadline: July 10, 2011
  • Scholarship Announcement: July 30, 2011
  • Arrival Date (Fall Semester): September 1, 2011
  • Scholarship Period: September 2011 – June 2012

How to Apply:

  • Interested students should contact their International Relations Office for the application package.
  • Individual applications will not be accepted.
  • Applicants must submit the completed package and required documents to the AUN Secretariatthrough the International Relations Office of their University.
  • Students must send 1 copy of their complete applications to Daejeon University via mail.
  • Check with your University’s International Relations Office for result of selection process.

Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) Phase III – Periode Aplikasi 2011/2012

Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) adalah program beasiswa yang dibiayai oleh Pemerintah Australia melalui AusAID untuk program studi S2 dan S3 di universitas-universitas Australia. Tujuan utama dari beasiswa ADS adalah untuk bekerjasama dengan pemerintah Republik Indonesia menuju Indonesia yang makmur, demokratis dan aman melalui penyediaan program beasiswa S2 dan S3.

Beasiswa ini terbuka bagi sektor pemerintah dan swasta. Prioritas diberikan untuk bidang-bidang studi yang menunjang tujuan peningkatan kemampuan sumber daya manusia Indonesia dan pembangunan yang akan mendukung :

- Pertumbuhan berkelanjutan dan manajemen ekonomi
- Investasi untuk pembangunan manusia
- Demokrasi, keadilan dan pemerintahan yang baik
- Keamanan dan perdamaian.

Batas akhir penyerahan lamaran: 26 Agustus 2011

Persyaratan khusus:
- Melamar untuk program studi yang termasuk dalam salah satu dari empat bidang prioritas pembangunan
- IPK minimal 2,9 (skala 4)
- IELTS minimal 5,0 (TOEFL Institutional/paper based minimal 500 atau TOEFL Internet Based minimal 39)
- Lulus Strata 1, untuk melamar program master
- Lulus Strata 2, untuk melamar program doktor
- Usia tidak lebih dari 42 tahun

Persyaratan Dokumen:
- Fotokopi Akta Kelahiran
- Fotokopi Paspor/KTP/kartu identitas nasional
- Daftar ijazah dan transkrip S1/S2 yang telah dilegalisir
- Fotokopi Ijazah dan transkrip S1/S2 yang telah dilegalisir
- Hasil IELTS atau TOEFL original yang diambil paling lama tahun 2009 atau 2010
- Referensi Akademik dari pembimbing S2 bagi pelamar program S3
- Proposal Penelitian bagi pelamar S2 (Full Research) dan pelamar S3.

Tata cara mengikuti program ADS:
- Melengkapi formulir pendaftaran ADS 2011/2012
- Mengirimkan/mengajukan tiga (3) rangkap formulir aplikasi yang telah terisi beserta dokumen yang diperlukan langsung ke kantor ADS Jakarta via pos, kurir, atau di antar langsung
- ADS akan mengirimkan surat pemberitahuan langsung hasil seleksi kepada seluruh pelamar
