International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP), American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, USA

The International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and is implemented byIREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a Washington, DC based non-profit organization.
ILEP will consist of a semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, teaching strategies for their home environment, teacher leadership, as well as the use of computers for internet, word processing and as tools for teaching.
The semester-long program, which will commence in January 2013 and conclude in May 2013, will also include an internship at a secondary school to engage participants actively with the American teachers and students.
The Fellowship provides:
  • A pre-departure orientation held in Indonesia
  • Round-trip airfare to and within the U.S.
  • A Welcome Orientation in Washington, DC
  • Academic program fees
  • Housing (generally shared with other program fellows)
  • Accident and sickness insurance
  • A daily allowance for meals and incidentals during the university academic program
  • A laptop computer
  • book/professional development allowance
  • A Closing Seminar in Washington, DC
  • excess bagage/shipping allowance
  • The opportunity to apply for collaborrative grants with U.S. colleagues
Eligible applicants must:
  • Be secondary-level (SMP/SMA or equivalent), full-time teachers in disciplines including: English as a Foreign Language, Social Studies, Civics, Mathematics or Sciences.
  • 5 years or more of teaching experience.
  • Be citizen of Indonesia
  • Be proficient in written and spoken English with a minimum ITP TOEFL score of 500 or IELTS 5.0 or IBT TOEFL score of 60/61. Please note that TOEFL prediction or TOEFL-like score cannot be accepted.
HOW TO APPLY
Candidates should complete the appropriate application forms which can be downloaded below. Applicant must submit the original application and four complete copies (for a total of five (5) copies). Each copy of the application should be submitted in the following order:
  1. Application form
  2. Curriculum Vitae
  3. a clearly written and concise one page Statement of Purpose
  4. Completed recommendation form and letter as well as completed institution support form, and
  5. A copy of your ID card (KTP or passport)

Through TCI Undergraduate Program, PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia is offering selected university students, an opportunity to receive scholarship and to build a professional career together with PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia.
What Does It Take?
To apply for PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia Undergraduate Program, the following qualifications should be fulfilled:
  1. A current undergraduate student who will be in their 6th semester in 2013 from (but not limited to) the following discipline:

How to Apply?
Complete the Undergraduate Application Form (available at the Student Council or download it here) and attach the following documents:
  • Latest 4×6 photograph attached to the Undergraduate Application Form
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • A certified copy of the latest academic transcript
  • The latest tuition receipt
  • A letter stating that you will not receive a scholarship from any other institution or organization after being selected as TCI Undergraduate (sealed)
  • A letter stating that you are willing to follow orientation program during school holiday after being selected as TCI Undergraduate (sealed)
  • Three essays in English with minimum 500 words per essay and printed on A4 paper, using size 10 Times New Roman font. The three topics are:
    • Why do you choose your current major?
    • What is your favourite subject that is relevant to TCI and how can you apply that to TCI?
    • Why do you deserve a scholarship from TCI?
  • SKCK Certificate from Police (if you don’t have it when you submit the documents, please bring it during the interview session).

The successful candidates will be invited to the recruitment process on April 2013 and the scholarship will be given on the 7th semester.
What Do We Offer?
Students who pass the selection process will receive:
  • Scholarship for maximum 2 semesters of IDR 6,000,000 per semester
  • Opportunity to join Graduate Development Program for 18 months and 2 years of services at PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia after graduating from the university
Once you join PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia as a Graduate, you will get the opportunity to follow the other development programs available*):
  • Management Development Program
  • Secondment / temporary assignment to Thiess Australia
  • External study (distance study) opportunity, for example:
    • Maintenance Management from Central Queensland University
    • Supply Chain Management from University of Southern Queensland

Hubert H Humphrey Fellowship Program for Mid-Career Professionals, American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, USA

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships enable Indonesian mid-career professionals to participate in non-degree programs that combine academic course work at the graduate level with professional development activities in the U.S. for a period of one academic year (9 months). Candidates are typically administrators in leadership positions with a minimum of five years of work experience who represent either the public or non-profit private sectors, including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) who are committed to public service.
Applicants will possess:
  • a Sarjana (S1) degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75 (4.0 scale). S2 graduates are also welcomed to apply.
  • a minimum ITP TOEFL score of 525 or IELTS of 5.5 or IBT TOEFL score of 70/71. Please note that TOEFL prediction or TOEFL-like score cannot be accepted.
